I am a fourth-year Biology major pursuing my Bachelor of Science degree, with another semester remaining until I graduate! After my bachelors degree, I am planning on applying to optometry school at Pacific University in Portland, Oregon. I have never experienced living outside of Kamloops, but I am excited to see what this new chapter will bring me. My ultimate goal is to specialize in the glaucoma eye condition and eventually open my own practice. I am passionate about making an impact in people’s lives by improving their vision and overall eye health.

Outside of school, I have always been interested in Public Relations. I spend a lot of time on social media platforms such as TikTok and Snapchat, which made me wonder what happens behind the scenes. How do influencers and brands keep their image consistent? How do they engage with their audience and share their messages effectively? Learning these tips and tricks could help me in the future when I am building my own brand as an optometrist.

I have realized that good communication and understanding different perspectives are important skills to have, whether it be in public relations or healthcare. I am excited to keep exploring these interests while pursuing my passion for eye care.
